This study shows that the more expensive the food, the more “tasty” it is.  The study shows that the higher the price the higher they tend to rate the food.  The less expensive the food is, they say that they feel guilty, bloated, and uncomfortable.  This was all reported on individuals that were having the exact same food.


The price of the food they found, definitely affected how they felt about the restaurant. They found that if a restaurant makes price cuts to the menu, it can actually hurt the sales of the restaurant.  It can cause customers to leave more negative reviews of the exact same food.


It is very interesting to me how consumers trick themselves into thinking that a product is better because it is more expensive.  People will spend twice as much on the exact same meal and have the same food, but be more satisfied.  People trick themselves into believing food is better because of the price.
